On May 28, 2008, Dr. Claire L. Felbinger passed away in Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Felbinger; and brother, James Felbinger. She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Felbinger; brother, Richard Felbinger; sister-in-law, Cindy Felbinger; niece, Molly Felbinger; husband, Richard Bingham; step-children, Paul Bingham and Connie Castaldo Sibilsky; and numerous grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
Dr. Felbinger, born January 9, 1956 in Joliet, IL, was a graduate of Providence High School, Augustana College, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she earned her PhD degree. Her career covered academic teaching and administrative positions at Northern Illinois University, Cleveland State University, and American University. Most recently, she held research positions with the Transportation Research Board and the Japan International Transport Institute. She was founding editor of the Journal Public Works Management and Policy and author/editor of numerous books and articles. She was recipient of numerous awards for service in public administration and public works management.
A memorial service will be held at Tezak's Home To Celebrate LifeA�?A�A�, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
