Oswego

Cindy Rauch Hanneman, born December 18, 1959 in Joliet, IL to Carl and Judy Rauch, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024.
Despite her many years of ailing health since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of forty, Cindy maintained her trademark kindness and generosity until her last. She was known as a person who would be willing to give of herself for another in any situation. Cindy always put her own needs second and rarely sought sympathy from others for her many challenges. As a child, Cindy fell in love with the art of dance. She worked tirelessly at her craft and found many significant successes which led to a number of wonderful experiences in dance between the ages of four and eighteen. After closing the chapter on her life as a dancer, Cindy moved onto many other forms of art including painting and ceramics. Cindy was well known as an animal lover, with a special affinity for dogs. She loved Elvis Presley, especially his album of Gospel standards, and she was a true and dear fan of the Chicago Cubs. Much time has passed since Cindy was capable of maintaining many meaningful relationships, but that time has had no effect on the lasting memories of love and appreciation for those who have had the great pleasure of sharing in her life.
Cindy was preceded in death by her dear sister, Sally Barnett, her paternal grandparents Carl and Alma Rauch Sr., and her maternal grandparents John and Lillian Muren.
She is survived by her devoted parents Carl Rauch Jr. and Judy Rauch (nee Muren), her daughter Rachel Hanneman, and loving nephew Carl John (Dawn) Schulze.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 with a visitation at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with interment at Orland Memorial Park Cemetery, 153rd St and West Ave, Orland Park, IL immediately following.
