Christine “Chris” Moon

Age 53 of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.

Born December 22, 1965 in Joliet, Christine was the daughter of David and Norma Jean (McCracken) Edwards. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet West High School with the class of 1983. Following graduation Chris enjoyed attending picnics held at St. Joseph Park. It was at one of these picnics that she met Bob Moon, and on August 22, 1987 Chris and Bob were married in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Together they made a home and raised their family in Joliet.

Chris was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed antiquing with Bob and was also a terrific cook. She especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays. Chris was a member of the North American Bear Center in Ely, Minnesota and would frequent their web camera to check on her favorite bear, Ted. Her main passions in life were to care for, love and support her family in everyway she could.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Bob; sons: Wesley and Eric Moon (Tracy Klag); father-in-law: Bob Moon, Jr., and brother-in-law: Frank (Becky) Moon.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law: Marguerite Moon and sister-in-law, Kathy Moon.

Family will receive friends and relatives for a visitation on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Chris’ life will continue on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then processing to Holy Cross Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
