Christine M. Toborg

Christine M. “Kris” Toborg (nee Fitzgerald), age 46, at peace on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 with her loving family by her side after fighting and winning a courageous battle with cancer for over six years.

Kris is survived by her beloved husband, Shaun; loving children, Max and Ben; loving parents, Bill and Marcia (nee Tomac) Fitzgerald; dear sister, Kari Fitzgerald; as well as loving friends and family.

Kris had a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She had the ability to bring out the best in people. She “inspired” people to be the best versions of themselves in her fitness classes and in her everyday life. Kris led by example. She loved her park district family, teaching her senior fitness classes, and Pink Heals fire truck.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ellen Gustafson, Dr. Abhinva Singla, and Dr. Gawtham Gutta.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to be put toward Max and Ben’s Education Fund would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Kris' life will begin on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 with a Memorial Mass at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Angels Chapel (1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet, IL). Reception to follow at Inwood Athletic Center (3000 Jefferson St., Joliet, IL) for a memorial visitation and celebration of Kris’ life from 3:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. Wear your best workout attire (lulu optional). “No Tears.” There will be NO VISITATION OR SERVICES AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
Per Christine’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
