Cheryl A. Shiffer

Cheryl A. Shiffer (nee Crook), age 62, at rest on Thursday, July 02, 2015 with her loving family close by her side.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted partner of 12 years, Robert Wysocki; her loving children, Damon Matthew (Erin) Shiffer, Erin (Leroy) Boaden, Marti Gage (Corey Kilbreath) Shiffer; grandchildren, Payton, D.J., Ella Shiffer, Becca "Bubba" Gilmore, Brady Boaden, Devon Shiffer and Lennon Kilbreath; siblings, Mary (Richard) Savio, Linda (Mike) Bessler and James (Donna) Crook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sue (Al) Forst, Sharon (the late Tom) Grimes, Mercia (Ron) Vironda; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her extended family at Vito's on Broadway Street.
Preceded in death by her husband, David L. Shiffer; parents, Arthur "Toby" and Mary (nee Elliott) Crook; parents-in-law, Willis, Kay and Luella Shiffer.
Cheryl graduated from Lockport West High School, class of 1970. She was employed by the Illinois State Police Department for over 20 years of dedicated service. Cheryl was an avid reader and Beatles fan. She also loved watching the Food Network and cooking. Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers donations in Cheryl's name to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will begin on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 with a service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Celebrant Ken Plese officiating. Then driving in procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Cheryl will be laid to rest with her husband. Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2-8 p.m.
