Charles Joseph Franze, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving daughter, niece, and friends.
Charles graduated from Joliet Central High School and went on to serve faithfully in the U.S. Army. Upon completion of his military duties, he was honorably discharged and began a career at Commonwealth Edison where he remained until his retirement. He held memberships in several social and charitable organizations. Charles was devoted and married to Margaret (nee Ancel) for 59 years. To his loving union were blessed two children, Marjean Marie and the late Charles Jr. “Chuckie” (Janice) Franze.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret; beloved son, Charles Jr.; and dear sister, Sister Marilyn Jean Franze, OSF.
Charles leaves to mourn his passing, devoted daughter, Marjean Marie Franze; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Charles’ caregiver, Zbyszek “Ziggy” Bebenista, for the exemplary care provided.
A Celebration of Charles’ life will begin on Friday, February 12, 2016 with a visitation from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435 then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. James Lennon officiating. Interment to follow with full military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery
