Charles W. Horvath “Charlie,” age 50, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 9, 2016.
Charles is survived by his three loving children, Samuel Joseph Horvath, Nathaniel Storm Horvath and Zachary Gerald Horvath; parents, Janet J. Horvath and Gerald F. Horvath; sister, Margaret (Thomas) Grafton; Michelle L. Horvath; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margarette and Ralph Harms; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Anna Horvath; and life-long best friend, Kurt Gould.
Charlie was born in Carbondale, IL and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School class of 1984. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Joliet Junior College and then went on to proudly join the Will County Carpenters Union Local #174. Charlie loved to watch his three sons play baseball for St. Joseph Little League. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, an avid fisherman and an active member of the Moran Athletic Club in Joliet. The last words Charlie always said to those he loved were, “I love you.” In death he will be beside his three boys as their Guardian Angel. He will always be at his sons back and the wind beneath their sails. We will hold you in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Charles’ life will begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
