Charles (Charlie) Michael Oberholtzer, 56 passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Charles (Charlie) was born in Joliet on December 30,1966 and was raised in Crest Hill Illinois. Charlie attended Chaney Mongee grade school and graduated from Lockport Township High School In 1984. Charlie moved to Colorado in 1996 and worked in the beverage industry for many years. He spent the last few years in sales and was a passionate advocate for his clients and was often said he could sell ice to an Eskimo, possessing a sharp wit and having an outstanding connection with people. There was nothing Charlie loved more than his two boys, Cameron and Casey. He was a devoted, loving father and together, they enjoyed many movies and programs, especially on the paranormal. They also shared a passion about anything Star Wars, collecting many things associated with the movies. Charlie enjoyed exploring crazy foods, and often tried the most extreme combinations, experimenting with traditional flavors and new creations. Charlie had a lifelong love of the Cubs, and earlier in life enjoyed the Bears. Later in life he was an avid Broncos fan and enjoyed the Rockies. Charlie had a passion for animals, enjoying the company of many wonderful creatures throughout his adult life. Most recently he had the companionship of his dogs, Scooby, Natile, and Storm.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Roy Oberholtzer Sr and Diane Marie (Haller) Oberholtzer, grandparents Marco and Mildred (Haller) and Sol and Evelyn Oberholtzer, numerous aunts and uncles, including Zora Haller Verna and Dolores Haller Davis, and cousins, including Patricia Davis Oglesby.

Left to cherish Charlie’s memory are his loving sons: Cameron Michael and Casey James Oberholtzer; his brother: James Lee Roy Oberholtzer Jr. and sister-in-law Michelle C. Zlogar Oberholtzer; nieces: Annagrette (Michael) Peters, Gabriella Oberholtzer, nephews: James A. Oberholtzer and Christopher J. Oberholtzer. Also survived by multiple cousins, including William (Linda) Davis, Sandra (John) De Pratt and Karen (Mike) Nebe.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway St., Joliet, IL and burial will follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, Caton Farm Rd &, Oakland Ave, Crest Hill, IL
