Charles W. Bokar, of Plainwell, MI passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the age of 86.
Charlie was born on April 13, 1929 in Cleveland, OH. He was the son of Charles and Lottie (Szczepanek) Bokar. Charles graduated from South High School in 1947. He excelled in basketball and baseball during his high school years. He then graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s in Business. Charles served in the United States Army as a Sergeant. He married Margaret Kozan on November 14, 1953. He worked for the Eaton Corporation in a number of different management positions from 1953 to 1990. He worked for Eaton in Cleveland and also Kentucky before being transferred to Galesburg, MI in 1987.
Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret “Marge”; four children: Charles (Dr. Laura) Bokar, of Naperville IL; Richard Bokar, of Willoughby, OH; Catherine Bokar, of Plainfield, IL; Robert Bokar, of Batavia, IL; five grandchildren: Emily Bokar; Megan Bokar; Jonathan Bokar; Benjamin Oberman, Sarah Oberman; son-in-law: Stuart Oberman, of Loganville, GA.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jo Anne Oberman.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Otsego, MI. Interment will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet, IL where military honors will be conducted. There will be NO services held at the funeral home.
