Charles E.  Anzelc, Sr. “Chasy”, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 24, 2017.

Born January 1, 1926 in Rockdale, IL and a lifelong resident of Plainfield.

Chasy is survived by his three loving sons, Greg (Debbie) Anzelc, Chuck (June) Anzelc and Tom (Cathy) Anzelc; loving grandchildren, Jill (Nick) Heimer, Mark and David Anzelc, Stephanie Anzelc, Matthew and Phillip Anzelc; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Grayson and Nathaniel Heimer; sisters, Theresa (Peter) Papesh and Catherine (the late Jack) Emery. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn (nee Belasich) Anzelc; parents, Anton and Anna (nee Gersich) Anzelc; siblings, Anton (Susan) Anzelc, Mary (Martin) Kambic, Anna (Ed) Montgomery, Joseph (Bertha) Sterle, Johanna (John) Gorc, Frances (Matthew) Senffner, John Sterle, Matilda (Steve) Tadey, William (Catherine) Anzelc, John (Mary) Anzelc and Elizabeth (John Burkhardt) (Francis Corp).

Chasy and his sons owned and operated, Anzelc Welding and Fabricating Company in Rockdale, a business he established in 1953. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council #382 and St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to his care giver, Jason Portales.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mary Nativity Capital Campaign.

A celebration of Charles’ life will begin on Friday, July 28, 2017 with a prayer service in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. following, Charles will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, July, 27, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road Joliet, IL) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
