Charlene M. Voitik

Charlene M. Voitik “Chuckie” (nee Unmisig), age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her loving family by her side.

Charlene is survived by her loving children, Michael Voitik and Richelle (Doug) Bauer; siblings, Richard (Sally) Unmisig and Beverly (Anthony) Jadron; nieces and nephews, Meredith (Larry) Holcombe, Kevin Whitehead, Nicholas (Kelly) Jadron, Melissa (Brock) Luxmore, Jessica Jadron; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; Uncle, Ed (Olga) Matesevic; Aunt, Dolores “Chickie” Janes and special friends, Sandy Pilarski and Mary Ann Barcus; also survived by many other special friends and neighbors of the Dearborn Street Gang.

Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy (nee Matesevic) Unmisig; nephew, Elliott Unmisig; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Chuckie attended Chaney Grade School and St. Francis Academy High School. She then went on to complete beauty school and became a lifelong hairdresser. Chuckie was born and raised in Crest Hill and was employed at Estilos Salon in Crest Hill, retired from Dominick’s and was formerly employed by the Empress Casino in Joliet. She was a lifetime parishioner at St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill, a member of the Croatian Cultural Club and the St. Anne C.C.W. She loved spending time with her family and friends and decorating for and celebrating the holidays. She will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlene’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Charlene’s life will begin on Friday, August 28, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2-8 p.m.
