Cesar Enrique Acuña Lecca, age 66, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 2, 2015 with his loving family by his side.
Cesar is survived by his loving children, Giancarlo (Rebecca), Cesar F. (Lisa), Alejandro (Tosha Bailey), and Jessica (fiancé Michael Meilleur) Acuña; cherished grandchildren, Desiree, Ariana, Miya, Luis, Leigha, and John Thomas; mother of his children, Maria Del Pilar Villaseñor; dear brother, Hugo (Ricardina) Acuña Lecca; dear sister, Betty Acuña Lecca; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Victoria (nee Lecca) Acuña.
Cesar was born in the small village of Chimbote, Peru, where he and his brother, Hugo formed the band Los Pasteles Verdes. They toured the world and came to the United States in 1979 where he later met the mother of his children, Maria Del Pilar Villaseñor. They wed on Sept. 5, 1981 and formed a family together. Cesar continued to pursue his passion for music and his strong faith in God by singing and playing in the choir at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chicago and most recently, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris. Cesar’s family and friends will be left to mourn his loss but find comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all family and friends who have shown support to Cesar and his family during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Cesar’s life will begin on Friday. November 6, 2015 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris, IL 60450. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday,, November 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
