Age88, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully at Provena Saint Joseph's Medical Center with family by her side on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Cassie is survived by her loving family; her four children, Lester Wayne (Gail) McCollum, Sharon Polivick, Eva (Daniel) Karcz, and Louis (Sharon) Zanzuchi; two sisters, Katherine Reeves and Elizabeth Wham; twelve grandchildren and their significant others; numerous nieces and nephews; eight adored great-grandchildren with one more blessing due in October. Cassie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zanzuchi (1998); her parents, John and Eva Reeves; one grandson, Louis F. Zanzuchi; two brothers, Paul Reeves and John Dixon; three sisters , Elma Reeves, Wathena Moore, and Juanita Kuzminski and numerous loved in-laws. Cassie's biggest passion in life was her family. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and dedicated so much of herself to them. She was the greatest Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother a family could ask for. Her cooking was unmatched! She enjoyed being a beautician, having coffee breaks with friends, bible study, bowling, shopping, bird watching, puzzles and cherished play time with her great-grandchildren. Her smile, her laugh and her saying ""A bushel and peck and a hug around the neck"" will forever be missed. Cassie's family would like to extend a special ""Thank You"" to the caregivers and staff at Fairview Nursing Home and the many nurses and doctors at Provena Medical Center who cared for her as if she was a member of their family!
A Celebration of Cassie"s Life will begin Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation with pictures and a video tribute will be held Tuesday July 19, 2011 from 5 to 8pm at
