Carol M. (Ligos) Tooley

Carol M. Tooley (nee Ligos), age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018 with her loving family at her side.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Roger B. Tooley; daughters, Bethany (Marco Albores) Tooley and Alicia (Jason Berg) Tooley; precious grandchildren, Joaquin Antonio Albores and Elowyn Rae Tooley-Berg.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Louis J. and Wanda A.  (nee Ustaszewski) Ligos Sr.; dear brother, Louis J. (late Eileen) Ligos Jr.; grandparents, Paul and Mary Ustaszewksi; and John and Mary Ligos; along with many other friends and family she held dear.

Carol was a life-long resident of Joliet, a student at St Cyril & Methodius and St. Thaddeus Schools, and a graduate of Providence Catholic High School and Western Illinois University.  Carol was a devout Catholic, a faithful and potent friend, a compassionate reading teacher, and she always enjoyed providing for others.  From free haircuts in the kitchen, to a call checking in, to funding a variety of charities, Carol was perpetually there to support everyone.  Carol was an amazing cook, and lucky to those who crossed her path, she was passionate about feeding people.  Carol’s benevolence and love was inherent, and she was protective of all the people she held dear.  She was an affectionate and loyal wife and a nurturing mother that always made her children feel safe, relevant, and adored.  She cherished her grandchildren and valued any time shared with family and friends.  She had a light that filled any dim space, and it will be a dark day without the radiance of Carol.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for all the love and prayers shared with Carol through this difficult time.

Donations may be made in Carol’s name to her adored little Church of St. Anthony.

A celebration of Carol’s  life will begin on Monday, February 26 , 2017 with a visitation at the Church of St. Anthony, 100 N. Scott Street, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at  Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL).
