Carmen Rodriguez, nee Arellano, age 80, of Joliet, at rest Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
Survived by her daughters Enriqueta Rodriguez and Juanita (Eduardo) Jimenez, grandchildren Asuncion (Jose) Jiminez, Sipriana, Paulino, Sabino, Carmen, Nereida and Teodoro; great grandchildren Estrella, Emilio, Jose Guadalupe, Thalia and Graciana; brother Anthony (Marilyn) Arellano. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband Juan Rodriguez, parents Sipriana (nee Ritiz) and Sabino Arellano; siblings Margie Zabala, Julia Vallejo, Vicente Arellano, Corngie Rodriguez, Dolores Martinez, David Arellano, Raul Arellano.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, member of Our Ladies of Guadalupe, and taught catechism for the church.
A celebration of Carmen"s life will begin on Monday, March 28 at 9:30 am with prayers at the funeral home chapel, then in procession to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Irving St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Visitation will be Sunday, March 27 from 1 to 6 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
