Carl David Hines Jr., born December 1st, 1930 left us sadly April 19, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Joliet, IL to Carl David Hines Sr. and Viola (Ward). He lived a long and fulfilled life in Mesa, AZ with his loving and devoted Wife Phyllis (Kwasigroch) of 69 years.
Carl was the father of three children; Andrea, Carla (Scott), and the late Phillip; proud Grandpa of Shannon (Kim) Hines, Michael (Lisa) Allen, Stephanie (David) Kaufman, Sarah (Austin) Grossi, Greg Hagner, and Jaxx Hines; proud Great Grandpa of Michael, Sydney, Allyson, Nicholas, Danny, Jacob, Olivia, Aubrey, and Baby Grossi; proud Great-Great Grandpa of Raelynn.
Carl served as a proud Marine in the Korean War, “Semper Fi” always faithful.
Carl loved and enjoyed many things in life such as country dancing, Jeepin’, patio parties with friends and family, and don’t forget the Chicago Cubs and Spring Training in Mesa. He loved working on wood projects, but for forty years he loved making stained glass for family and friends.
Carl touched the lives of so many people who loved him dearly. He will be so very much missed by everyone; but his wisdom, kindness, thoughtfulness, talent, great smile, big heart, and love will always be with us.

Per Carl’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until time of closing prayers beginning at 11:30 a.m at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Interment will follow and Carl will be laid to rest with full military honors being rendered at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
