Bradley David Gatons, age 56, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at his home in Springfield, IL.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Vanessa (Mitch) Pillarick and his grandchildren, Adelaide and Weston. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara (John) Smith and Beverly (Paul) Woelfer.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert A. and Betty S. Gatons and his brother, Robert A. Gatons, Jr.
Brad was a talented chef, wonderful musician, lover of all things pertaining to music such as an avid fan of various drum and bugle corps., collector of various musical instruments, artistically gifted with drawing/designing cartoons and such and an all-around child-at-heart. One of Brad’s greatest accomplishments was to finally attain sobriety and to become active in AA recovery efforts of others.
He was a loving and very proud father and papa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Brad’s name may be sent to his daughter Vanessa Pillarick, P.O. Box 64, Bethalto, Illinois 62010 to be used for his grandchildren’s college education.
A celebration of Bradley’s life will begin on Saturday, May 20, 2017 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded.
