Betty Jane Smith

Betty Jane Smith (nee Seitz), age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Betty is survived by her children, Denise (Bruce) Winterbottom, Lisa Ibarra, Ryan Smith, Darin Smith and Ashley (Carson) Pond; grandchildren, Stephanie (Wayne) Schafroth, Chyan Winterbottom, Janie Ibarra, Shane Winterbottom, Malanie Daugherty and Kemp Pond; great-grandchildren, Leena Schafroth; siblings, Cheryl (Jerry) Davis, Carol Spencer, Linda (Dwight) Reeb, Paul (Donna) Seitz, Susan (Joe) Torres and David Seitz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ella (nee Daugherty) Seitz; first husband, Delton Daugherty; and second husband, Landis Smith.
Betty loved the outdoors, camping and traveling.
A celebration of Betty's life will begin on Saturday, September 26, 2015 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3-7 p.m. A service will be held during the visitation in the funeral home chapel at 6:30 p.m. Celebrant Ken Plese officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
