Betty M. Cortez
Age 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Abel and Elizabeth Benegas. She was born in Luxora, Arkansas on May 30, 1943. She retired from Provena Villa Franciscan.
Survived by her husband of 38 years Epifanio Cortez. Her children Anita (Kristi) Casillas, Martin Sr. (Dianna) Casillas, Paco (Cindy) Casillas, Rachel (Mike) Breen, and Mark Cortez. Her father Abel Benegas, siblings Junior (Theresa) Benegas, Donna Stewart, Lou (John) Murphy, Lawrence Benegas, and Levi (Donna) Benegas. 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Preceded in death by her son Rolando Casillas, her mother Elizabeth Benegas, and her biological father Max Kroner.
Visitation for Betty will be on Monday February 20, 2012 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Services will be held at the funeral home from 7:00pm -8:00pm.
