Bernice L. Garavalia Nee Svetlecich Age 79
Bernice Passed away peacefully October 4, 2008 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home at the age of 79 losing her courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Joliet and was a resident of Peotone. A long time member of St. Paul"s The Apostle Church Peotone, a Eucharist Minister and Nominated ""Woman of the Parish"" in 2007 an honor she cherished. She was a devout Catholic attended mass daily and loved to spread God"s Love to all her family, friends and strangers. Her devoted friends from Peotone became her second family. She was an inspiration to all who new her and will be greatly missed.
She Is survived by her sisters Martha Mufich, Dorthy Burzawa, Dolores Spangler and Pauline Homerding, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Anton and Theresa Svetlecich, brother Joseph, John, Frank, Ray and sisters Ann, Mary, and Annette Belbodich.
Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice and St. Paul The Apostle Church in Peotone would greatly appreciated.
From where services will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM to St. St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of service.
