Bernard Rozman

Bernard Rozman, aged 89, of Joliet, IL. The youngest of 5 children born to Anton and Helena (Žvab) Rozman. Survived by his children, Paul (Renee), Greg (Kerry), and Theresa; grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Williams, Anton and Janez Lockwood, Thomas Rozman, and Gregory Rozman and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Marinka; a daughter and son, Helen Williams and Bernie (in infancy); his parents and siblings, Tončka (Francel Mlinar), Lovro (Ivanka), Ivan (Georgeanne), and Peter.

Bernard was very proud of his service in the US Army (1955-58). He retired from NICOR and has been a proud member of Joliet Radio Control Club and Grundy Aeromodelers for many years. Bernie volunteered for many years to maintain the lawn equipment for the Slovenian Catholic Mission and Center (SVS and SCC) and has been a member since they were established. He was always a faithful parishioner to St Joseph’s Parish.

Per his wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet on Thursday, August 29, 2024, 3:00-8:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, August 30 after lying in state beginning at 10:00 am at the Slovenian Catholic Mission, 14246 Main St, Lemont, IL 60439.

Burial of his cremains in the family plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Joliet, to be held at 3:30pm, August 30 with Military Honors.

Donations to the Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM) or the Franciscan Fathers of Lemont, IL can be offered in his memory.
