Bernard E. Kren ""Bernie"" age 89, of Joliet, IL, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010, at Provena Villa Franciscan in Joliet, IL.
Survived by his three children Bruce (Sally), Barry (Diane), and Sue (Kelley) Kren; his grandchildren Tracey (Matthew) Kelly, Amy (Trevor) Sula, and Nate (Jillian) Kren; his great-grandchildren Jordyn, Tanner, Jonah, and McKinley; one brother Jerome ""Romey"" (Marge) Kren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Rogina) and his brother Laverne ""Vern"" Kren. Bernie was a life-long resident of Joliet who retired from Illinois Bell Telephone after 38 years of service. He was a WWII Marine Veteran serving in the South Pacific Theatre. Bernie was Past Commander of VFW Stone City Post #2199, member of St. Joseph Holy Name Society, KSKJ St. John's Lodge, Telephone Pioneers of America and the Old Timers Baseball Association of Will County.
According to Bernie's wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private family services were held. Inurnment was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
