At rest on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 Provena St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Survived by his three daughters Karen (Dennis) Del Sasso, Linda (Dennis) Himes and Kathleen (Ronald) Rohland; seven granddaughters Tammy, Kelly, Nikki, Angela, Aimee, Alexis and Alyssa; four great-grandchildren Jessica, Hannah, William and Griffin. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife Beatrice (Lehner) Connors; his parents Bernard and Emma Connors; one sister Emma Matlak. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Retired from Caterpillar after 35 years of service. Member of the New Lenox V.F.W. Post 9545 and lifetime member of the Ingalls Park Athletic Club. Bernie was a Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame football fan. Bernie was a devoted caretaker to his loving wife of 46 years.
