Bernadine T. (Ward) Ukovich

Bernadine T. Ukovich (nee Ward), age 92, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 4, 2016.

Bernadine is survived by her loving children, Joyce (Robert) Vicich, Robert (Susan), and Mary Fran (Gary) Schild; cherished grandchildren, Jill (Michael) Breneman, Emily (Brian) Petronio, Deborah (Robert) Zelinski, Jennifer (Dan) Jungles, Michael Schild, and Cory Schild; cherished great-grandchildren, Joseph Breneman, Elijah and Olivia Zelinski, Abby and Derek Jungles; dear sisters, Rita Patterson and Eunice Ward; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins .

Preceded in death by her husband, John (2003) ; great-grandson, Brody Zelinski; parents, Edward and Theresa (nee Aschenbrenner) Ward; brothers, Harold and Lloyd Ward; sister, Winifred Decman , Lorraine Papesh , and Verna Papesh .

Bernadine was a long time parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. She was a member of KSKJ St. Francis Lodge #29 and Slovenian Union of America. A long time Cubs fan, Bernadine was able to witness the Cubs World Series victory.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rosewood Care Center, Angel’s Grace Hospice, and Dr. Gandhi for the excellent care provided.

A Celebration of Bernadine’s life will begin on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
