Bennie L. Huddlestun, age 85, passed away on Friday, and December 29, 2017 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Bennie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Rosalie (nee Hinkle) Huddlestun; children, Debra (Randell) Sherman, Janis (George) Harris, Nancy (David) Brooks, Teresa (Dan) Seeman and John (Karen) Huddlestun; grandchildren, Karen (Tim) Lewis, Rachel (John Guest) Sherman, Michelle (Paulie) Harris, Joshua (Anne) Brooks, Jacob Brooks, Joy (Alex Thompson) Brooks, Jonathon Brooks, Jasmine Brooks, Eric (Stephanie) Seeman, Brandon ( Jamilyn) Seeman, Elizabeth Seeman, Alex Seeman, Mitchell, Jessica, Becca, Andrew and Kara Huddlestun; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his son, James Daniel Huddlestun; parents, Ivan and Cleo (nee Edwards) Huddlestun; and brother, Morris Keith Huddlestun.

Bennie was born in Jasper Township, IL. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War serving on the USS Dixie. Bennie dedicated 33 years of his life to Caterpillar Co., retiring in 1995. He loved to travel, garden and fish. Bennie had a unique laugh that you could hear from anywhere. He enjoyed making homemade ice-cream and spending time with his grandchildren. Bennie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Bennie’s Life will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2018 with a service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Anne Brooks. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL).
