Barry E. Mead, age 61, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, July 8, 2016 with his loving family close by his side.
Barry is survived by his daughters, Tracy (Eric) Marketti and Cheryl Mead; grandchildren, Amber, Dustin, Lexi, Brett, Jennifer, Shane and Nico; great-granddaughters, Autumn, Aubree and Amelia; mother, Joule Lenore Heck-Mead; siblings, Dianna (Charles) Anderson, Howard (Mary) Mead, Debbie (Jim) Piazza and Dannette (James) Young; numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Howard A. Mead Sr.; brother, James Mead; and sister, Donna McCullough.
Barry was born and raised in Joliet and was employed by the IDOT as a snow bird. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #330 and a long haul truck driver as well. Antique automobile restoration was a deep passion of Barry’s and he enjoyed being a member of car clubs and showing off his progression on his current project to his daughters. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for funeral expenses would be appreciated.
The family would like to invite relatives and friends to gather on Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. There will be NO services at the funeral home Friday morning. Per Barry’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following Mass. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
