Barbara Kaye Adams

Barbara Kaye Adams, 73 of Joliet, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home under the wonderful care from Joliet Area Community Hospice.

She was born April 12, 1944 in St. Peter, MN and raised in LeSueur, MN.  Barbara is survived by her sister Lindalee Adams of Plainfield, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Sylvia Adams; guardian and aunt Rev. Vern Ellis and Carmen Ellis; and stepmother, Marion Adams.

Barbara was blessed with God’s creation of cats, Felix, Ernest, Ole and her beloved American bulldog Benjamin Franklin Adams.  Barbara was a retired school librarian from Valley View School District (1968-2005) and worked at the Joliet Public Library.  She was a member of IRTA, JRTA, CAPA, served on the JJC Board, area Tea Parties, Committeewoman for Joliet Precinct #19 and Vice Chairman for Joliet Township Republican Organization.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara’s name to St. Peter Lutheran Church (310 N. Broadway St., Joliet, IL 60435)

A celebration of Barbara Kaye Adams’ life will begin on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Joliet.  Barbara will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord, MN.  Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road - Joliet, IL).
