Arvilla D. Smith (nee Dodge), age 93, at rest on Monday, September 26, 2016.
Arvilla is survived by her loving children, Judy (Thomas) Henricks, Bruce (Rita) Smith, Susan (Larry) Schuler; grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Henricks, Sara (Peter) Fleming and Kelly (Jon) Flowers, Amanda (Todd) Francisco and Clayton Schuler; great-grandchildren, Colton, Keighera, Jaxon, Everett and Wyatt.
Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith (2007); parents, Sherman P. and Lovisa F. (nee Spencer) Dodge; 2 brothers, James and Norris Dodge; and sister, Helen (Kenneth) Perry.
Arvilla was born in Truemans, PA and resided in Channahon since 1964. She retired from the E.J. & E. Railroad after over 23 years of service. Arvilla was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star of Parker, PA, Channahon United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Arvilla’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Channahon United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
Per Arvilla’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
