At rest on April 12, 2007, at the Joliet Area Hospice Home.
Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Arvilla D. (nee Dodge) Smith. Loving father of Judy (Thomas) Henricks, Bruce (Rita) Smith and Susan (Larry) Schuler. Devoted grandfather of Elizabeth and David Henricks, Sara and Kelly Smith and Amanda and Clayton Schuler. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earl L. and Sarah M. (nee Messersmith) Smith, one sister, Violet Rapp.
Arthur was born in Warren, PA and has resided in Channahon since 1964. Retired from Stepan after 21 years of service. Veteran of WWII U.S. Army 96th Infantry; received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Bronze Arrowhead and the World War II Victory Medal. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Arthur was also a very active member in the United Methodist Church.
Cremation Rites were accorded.
