Argelia Chavez (nee Diaz), age 58, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in her home with her loving family by her side.
Argelia is survived by her beloved husband, Ignacio Chavez; children, Veronica Chavez and George Chavez; mother, Enedina Diaz (nee Caballero); brothers, Waldemar (Reyna) Diaz, Marcos (Alicia) Diaz and Gerardo (Dolores) Diaz; mother-in-law, Guadalupe Chavez; beloved grand-dog, Joel and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Marcos Diaz and father-in-law, Francisco Chavez.
Argelia was born in Huandacareo Michoacan, Mexico. She and her family migrated to the United States in 1969. Gella graduated from St. Anne Catholic High school in 1978. She married her husband Ignacio in 1978 when they began their lives together. Gella was a devoted wife and the best mother. She had a passion for traveling, enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Argelia’s life will begin on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn II Cemetery in Joliet, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL 60435)
