Antonio Z. Zavala

July 21, 1950 — May 31, 2015

Antonio Z. Zavala, age 64, entered eternal life on Sunday, May 31, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

Antonio is survived by his beloved wife, Olga L. (nee Calderon); loving daughters, Guadalupe Zavala, Heladia Zavala, and Maria (Izaiah) Munoz; cherished grandchildren, Izaiah Jr, Angel, Hector, and Lily Munoz.

Preceded in death by his parents, Gavino and Eladia Zavala.

Tony worked hard for 36 years at BNSF Railroad. He shared a love for music and dancing with his wonderful wife. Bringing laughter through his story telling gave him such enjoyment. Tony was a faithful and loyal man who spent his life exemplifying genuine kindness. He treasured nothing more than the precious moments he shared with his loved ones, most especially his grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Silver Cross Hospital ICU and Cancer Center, VITAS Hospice, and Presence Villa Franciscan for the extraordinary care provided.

A Celebration of Antonio's life will begin on Thursday, June 4, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
