Antonio Del Rio, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Hermila (nee Morfin) Del Rio; children, Marta (Angel) Patino, Jose (Amy) Del Rio, Gloria Del Rio, Georgina (Fernando) Cisneros, Homero (Crystal M.) Del Rio, Maria (Faustino Vargas) Del Rio, Norma (Jorge) Esparza, Sendy (Joseph) Banas, Octavio (Crystal L.) Del Rio; 21 beautiful grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and 3 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Espiritu Del Rio and Hermelinda Ochoa; daughter, Maria Minerva; and brothers, Ramiro, Jose, Enrique, and Lupe.
Antonio was born in La Garita, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1973, Antonio moved to the United States and settled in Joliet, Illinois where he raised his family with his wife, Hermila. He spent 25 years working for Railway Industrial Services. Antonio was a fan of boxing and soccer, his favorite team being Chivas. He was very proud of his garden, especially his cucumbers.
A celebration of Antonio’s life will begin on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill. Visitation will be on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
