Anton "Tony" J. Petric

Anton “Tony” J. Petric, age 92, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Born on March 5, 1932, in Joliet, Anton was the cherished son of the late Marko and Anna (née Cernetich) Petric.

Tony is survived by his devoted children, Terri Petric, Scott (Jill) Petric, and Renee Petric; his beloved grandchildren, Amanda Raymond, Danielle Petric, and Brittany Petric; and his adored great-grandchildren, Abigail Raymond, Mason Raymond, and Harmony Raymond. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Y. (Morin) Petric, two infant sons, Gary and Terry Petric, and siblings Angela Turza, Theresa Marine, Anne Szafranski, Raymond Petric, and Donald Petric.

A proud veteran, Tony served in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Joliet Moose Lodge 300. Tony dedicated his life to his passion for auto mechanics, owning and operating Tony Petric's Auto Center from 1980 to 2005. His love for life extended beyond work, as he was an avid bowler and golfer.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Lightways Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anton's memory may be made to Lightways Hospice.

Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, love, and cherished memories.

A celebration of Tony's life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024  from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL.  Chapel services will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with burial  to follow at St Joseph Cemetery , 1500 N. Raynor, Joliet, IL where he will be laid to rest with his wife Frances.
