Age 80, at rest Monday July 13, 2009 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Joan ""JoAnn"" E. (nee Schmars) Russ, loving father of Gary (Terry), David (Darlene) and Paul (Sherry) Russ dearest grandfather of Jennifer and Nicholas Russ and Lizbeth Russ, six step grandchildren Kelly, Kristen and Danny Kuhl, Jessica, Taylor and Matthew Storie, five sisters Mary Ann (late Carl) Gregorich, Diane (Mickey) Budzinski, Kay (Jerry) Whiteley, Lucy (Jerry) Pagorski and Linda (Peter) Sartori and one brother Richard ""Zeke"" Russ also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Anton B. and Mary (nee Fabian) Russ, and one sister Gertrude (late Ronald) Shroba. Anton was born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School, retired from Commonwealth Edison after thirty five years of service and was a veteran of the U.S Army Korean Conflict. He was a member of Northwest Recreation Club, Moran A.C, Seniors Citizens Assoc., St. Joseph Holy Name Society and KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge # 2. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 am then to St. Joseph Church Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, St. Joseph Holy Name will meet 10:am.
