Antoinette “Peaches” Anderson was born on April 3, 1968, in Joliet, IL to Isiah and Bennie Anderson. Peaches made her transition from this life to go home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Silver Cross Hospital.
Peaches graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1986.
Peaches was employed at Lakewood Rehabilitation Center for 10 years and later employed at Harrah’s Casino.
Peaches confessed and gave her life to Christ at St. Mark C.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Stephen D. Deloney. Peaches served faithfully as Steward Board Chairperson and Voices of St. Mark Choir President.
Peaches was preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Leon Walker, her sister Tanya Anderson, her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Peaches is survived by her loving and devoted only son Justin (Shannon) Anderson, her only granddaughter, who she adored very much McKinzie Rae, and her granddog Magnus; her parents Isiah and Linda Anderson; siblings Isiah (Sheley) Anderson Jr. of Seattle, WA; Kendall C. Norris (Elroy) of Shorewood, IL; Karla Maiden of Joliet, IL; Antwon (Julie) Anderson of Shorewood; Taurus Sanders and Corion Anderson both of Joliet, IL; nieces and nephew; Marcus Anderson, Jermiral Jackson, Eric, Makkai, and Akila Griffin; Ja’Ryan and Jalen Norris and Da’Veon Stewart; Carlos, Jr and Cydney Maiden; Antwon Jr., Michael, Amiyah, and Alayshia Anderson; Taylor Anderson and Arriana May; Aja, Taryn, and Taana Sanders; great-nephew Isaiah Sterbling; great-nieces Mela and Malayah Norris; special grandmother Diana L. McKennie of Sugar Hill, GA. These people were very special to Peaches; aunt Angela Banks; cousin Michelle Davenport; brother Darryl Williams; friends Erica Bell, Yolanda “Lonnie” Polley, and Donnetta Tetter, and Kathy O’Neill -- who was Thelma to Peaches’ Louise. Peaches also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Peaches loved to dance, especially the Percolator, and sit beside her family at McKinzie’s soccer games. Peaches’ wig game was strong…you just never knew which one you would get when you saw her. Peaches’ go-to side dish for all family functions was her potato salad and she loved collecting key chains. Peaches was married to Shemar Moore (he just didn’t know it) LOL and loved watching Criminal Minds. For all those who knew and loved Peaches, she will TRULY BE MISSED. May she now rest in perfect peace.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark C.M.E. Church, 348 S. Joliet Street in Joliet.
Per Antoinette’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
