Anthony D. Wolf “Tonchie,” age 87, at rest on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Amita Healthy Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines.
Born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Tony proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Ft. Ord, CA. He was a member of KSKJ, Rivals Club and VFW Cantigny Post #367. Tony enjoyed gardening and entertaining with his button box, including being a Polka Master. He retired from Caterpillar Co. after 31 years of dedicated service.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evangeline; his sister, Mary “Mitzi” (the late Ed) Kapsch and brother, Joseph (the late Cele) Wolf; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Mary Janesh Wolf (nee Mufich) and Anton Wolf; sisters, Julie (Raymond) Bregar and Helen (Raymond) Kezele; brother, August Janesh; sisters-in-law, Cele Wolf, Carol (Paul) Warren from Brownwood, TX, and Mary (Robert) Pierce from San Diego, CA; and brother-in-law, Ed Kapsch.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s name to a local VFW or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
A celebration of Anthony’s life will begin on Monday, February 7, 2022 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until closing prayers at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
