Anthony G. Umek

Anthony G. Umek, age 84, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Joan Umek, children Anthony (Sharon) Umek, Mary (Tim) O"Connor, Dave (Jill) Umek and Andrea Cain; step-children Janet (Edward) Enzenbacher and Jim (Kim) Baker; and 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Marie (Ben) Tekel and numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion ""Duke"".
Tony was preceded in death by his first wife Glyndal Glee (nee Mitchell) in 1965.
He was a US Army WWII veteran. Tony worked for the E J & E Railroad, retiring in 1988 after 37 years, and was a member of Moran A.C.
A Celebration of Tony"s Life will be held with a visitation on Friday, June 10 from 2 ""A�?? 8 PM. Private inurnment will take place on a later date at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery.
