Anthony "Tony" J. Lopez, at the age of 71, passed away surrounded by family.

Preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Angela. Brothers Peter, John, Arthur and Manuel Jr., sisters Helen, Beatrice, and Mary and his infant son Mario Joseph.

Survived by his beloved wife Josephine (Fonseca) of 52 years. His only daughter Robin Jo (Peralez), and three sons Anthony, Jr. (Felisa), Andrew (Laura), and Mario (Marisol) Lopez. Loving grandchildren Lana and Justin Peralez, Scott, Matthew, Marc, Corbin and Marisa Lopez, sister Olivia (Norman) Sommers. Tony also had numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Tony was born and raised in Chicago (Roseland). Attended the Chicago Public School Systems. Served in the U.S. Air Force 1954 to 1958. Employed by Rockwell Standard Corp. in Chicago for 9 years, US Steel in Joliet for 17 years, Silver Cross Hospital (Security) for 6 years, and retired from Joliet Township High School (Security) for 13 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Joliet Lodge #300. Tony had a proud, successful boxing career. Chicago Golden Gloves 160lbs Champion in 1953. Total of 92 fights, 85 wins, 7 Losses and 52 knockouts. He boxed in the U.S Air Force, winning several U.S. Air Force Base Championships stateside and overseas. Tony also boxed in Joliet at the Coliseum under (Jenkins Promotions) Exhibition in the 1960"s. Tony"s memory will live on through the unity of his family.

A celebration of Tony's life will begin with chapel prayers in the funeral home on Friday, August 11, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to Mount Carmel Catholic Church (Jackson St.) for a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak 's Home to Celebrate Life (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL).
