Anthony D. Lewis

Anthony D. Lewis, age 92, entered eternal life Friday, March 16, 2018.

Anthony is survived by his beloved children, Cathy (Paul) Lawrence, Craig Lewis and Tony (Viki) Lewis; his grandchildren, Darryn (Jackie) Johnson and Tracie Lawrence, A.J. (Caryn) Lewis, Kyle Lewis; great-grandchildren, Zack Johnson, Ava Johnson, Julian Lewis and Nicholas Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marilyn (nee Miller) Lewis; parents, Andrew Joseph and Rose (nee Salai) Lewis; and brother, Andrew D. Lewis.

Anthony was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 before he graduated from high school. Anthony retired after 35 years as a serviceman from People’s Gas, Light and Coke Company.

Anthony enjoyed fishing, dancing with his beloved Marilyn, and most especially traveling and spending the summer at their cottage in Wisconsin. He will be truly missed.

A celebration of Anthony’s life will begin on Saturday, March 24, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Anthony and Marilyn will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL at a later date.
