Anthony W. Kwit
“Tony”
Age 68 of Palatine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Born September 29, 1952 in Chicago, Anthony Walter was a son of John and Josephine (Szczepan) Kwit. Tony proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, Tony became a building engineer and worked for Jewel Foods for over 25 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tony is survived by his daughter: Katie E. Kwit; grandson: Milo Anthony Pena; sisters: Anna (the late Chris) Karambelas and Rosie (the late Gene) Holubecki; brothers: Robert (the late Celeste) Kwit, Peter (Francine) Kwit and Chester (Tammy) Kwit, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Josephine; son: Anthony R. Kwit; sister: Helen Kwit, and brothers: John (survived by Mary) Kwit, Jimmie (survived by Aniela) Kwit and Joseph survived by Georgia) Kwit.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Anthony’s life will continue on Friday, March 12, 2021 with a short visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private interment will follow and Anthony will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood with full military honors being rendered. Face masks and social distancing practices are required.
