Anne C. Steinhauer-Chakos, 53, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, after a long battle with a terminal illness.
An accomplished real estate agent, treasured friend, and beloved mother and wife, Anne moved through life with sophistication and style, facing challenges head-on with a million-watt smile.
She was born in St. Paul, MN, on February 15, 1970, to Don and Susan Steinhauer (nee Granquist). Anne was the youngest of three, little sister to John and Frank. When Anne was four, the family moved to Shorewood, making a home in Camelot. She spent her grade school years at Minooka, then moved on to St. Francis Academy. After earning an associate degree at Joliet Junior College, she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her grace and style served her well as she took on a job at Bloomingdales in Chicago. It was during that time she met, dated, and later married Tim Chakos. The two moved to Bradenton, FL, quickly making a home there. They eventually welcomed children Maximilian, Annika, and Katrina, the true joys of Anne's life.
Anne also found a new passion in Florida: real estate. After earning her license, and meeting mentors Tracy and Michelle, she began to make her mark in the field. She worked as a sales associate at Lee Wetherington Homes, a sales manager at Premier Sotheby's International Realty, and eventually as associate director of new homes and condos at Michael Saunders & Company in Sarasota, FL. Her strength in facing her diagnosis was an inspiration to all who knew her. That strength, along with her quick humor, beauty, musical laugh, and kindness, will be greatly missed.
She's survived by her husband, Tim, son, Maximilian, daughters, Annika and Katrina, her mother, Susan, brothers, John and Frank, godparents, Lynn and Janis Most, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, friends, and her fellow members of the Fabulous Five: Kathy, Patti, Kim and Betsy.
