Ann Vidmar (nee Marchek)
Age 107 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022 at The Pearl of Joliet.
Born July 19, 1915 in Utica, Illinois, Ann was a daughter of Anton and Barbara (Pasdertz) Marchek. She was a devout catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. Ann was also a long time member of the St. Joseph Church Altar and Rosary Society. Over the years Ann held a few different jobs including positions with 1st National Bank, West Pines Hotel and Joliet Township, but her main job was always taking care of her family and her home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her four children: Arthur Vidmar of Joliet, Antoinette “Toni” Beck of Joliet, Barbara Droege of Bluffton, South Carolina and Gregory (Debbie) Vidmar of Channahon; dearest grandmother of: Roberta (Len) Veatch, Richard Beck, Stephen (Dorothy) Beck, Eric (Minh) Beck, Christopher (Julie) Vidmar and Jonathon Vidmar; cherished great-grandmother of: Sarah Veatch, Alex Veatch, Jacqueline (Steven) Dolatowski, Kevin Beck, Aaron Beck, Nathan Beck, Brandon Beck, Cameron Beck, Danielle Beck, Stephanie Beck, Emmalyn Vidmar, Cole Vidmar and Gavin Vidmar; great-great grandmother of: Payton Dolatowski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by an infant son: Donald; husband: Anton Vidmar; parents: Anton and Barbara Marchek; sons-in-law: Marv Droege and David Beck and daughter-in-law: Diane Vidmar.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. until time of closing prayers beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. The funeral will then drive in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow and Ann will be laid to rest with her late husband Anton at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Ann’s memory to Lightways Hospice Care or to St. Joseph Church.
