Ann Mitchell

Annamae “Ann” Mitchell (nee Shaw), age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Ann is survived by her loving daughter, Colleen Mitchell; devoted bother, John (Monica) Shaw, Jr.; niece, Holly Frank (nee Shaw); nephew, Ryan (Katie) Shaw; great nieces, Grayce Frank, Kyla and Makenzie Shaw; extended family, Kathy (Keith) Courtright, Kelly Covarrubias, April and Regan Hooper; as well as numerous cousins.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guy Mitchell; parents, John and JoAnn Shaw; and sister, Joanie Shaw.

Ann was born and raised in Joliet, IL. She worked as a travel agent for over 20 years, for which she had a passion. Ann was a diehard Chicago White Sox fan who loved music, movies, and traveling with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Care Center and Kindred Hospice for the excellent care and concern that they showed for Ann throughout her illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to Kindred Hospice.

A celebration of Ann’s life will begin on Monday, November 26, 2018 with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m at Tezak Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Cyril Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
