It is with great sadness that the family of Angel Duran Arias, age 69, announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Angel passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

Angel is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Virginia Refugio Arias; children Angel (Veronica), Gabriel (Renee Rivera), Raphael (Angelica) and Tanya; grandchildren Ariana (Jairo Diaz), Griselda and Rozlynn; great grandson Lisandro Angel Diaz; siblings Rafael (Patricia), Jaime (Lourdes), Margarita, Leticia (Renzo), and Miroslavia, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Angelina Arias, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico (El Rancho de Cepio), Angel Arias emigrated to the United States in 1969 working the produce fields of Southern California. Angel married the love of his life, Virginia, on December 29,1978 and established his home and family in Joliet, Illinois where he would live the rest of his life. He had an exemplary work ethic that followed him through various employers, including GAF, McKesson, and Hollywood Casino, where he eventually retired from in 2021.
