Amalia Rosas Hernandez, passed peacefully and called to the Lord's side on Monday, July 28, 2014. She was born to Rosendo and Herculana Rosas on August 25, 1945 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. Our loving sister Amalia was a lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois. She was a talented seamstress/designer, knitter, crocheter, cook, card and domino player; a loving sister and a second mom to all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Amalia was a dedicated caregiver to both her parents Rosendo and Herculana Rosas until they passed.
Preceded in death by her father, Rosendo Rosas Gutierrez (2005), her mother, Herculana Rosas Hernandez (2003), her siblings Manuel (2012), Rosendo Jr. (1974), Maricela (1961). Nephews, Froyland (2005) and Alfredo (1997). Her paternal and maternal grandparents Jose and Belem Rosas and Gabriel and Herminia Hernandez.
Beloved sister of Belem, Pascuala (Luis), Jose (Maria), Juana (Jose), Maria (Osvaldo), Herminia (Edmundo), Jorge, Socorro, Aracelia, Gerardo, Cecilia and Gloria (Joel). Beloved Aunt of numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations on Amalia's name to St. Mary Nativity Church in Joliet or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Joliet.
A celebration of Amalia's life will begin on Saturday, August 2, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2-8 p.m.
