Alice R. (Budzinski) Russ

Alice R. (nee Budzinski) Russ, age 87, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home with her loving family by her side.

Alice is survived by her daughters, June (Phil) Borntrager, Kim (late David) Eichelberger and Lynn (Dennis) Nichols; three grandchildren, Jill Eichelberger, Austin and Darcee Nichols; sisters-in-law, Diane Budzinski and Pat (Alan) Spreitzer.

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Albert F. Russ; parents, Michael and Anna (nee Billy) Budzinski; sisters, Dorothy Jadron-Nikonchuk, Lorraine Butler; and brother, Michael “Mickey” Budzinski.

Alice was a lifetime resident of the Crest Hill area. She was a cook at Merichka’s restaurant for over 27 years. She was a member of the CCW at St. Anne’s and was a volunteer for their monthly pancake breakfasts. She enjoyed reading and attending the picnics at St. Joe’s Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may made be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or to Alice’s family.

All relatives and friends are invited to meet on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL) from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
