Alice P. Valek

Alice P. Valek (nee Fojut), 81, of New Lenox, at rest on March 1, 2011 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Survived by her daughters Alice J. Fitzgerald and Rebecca (Steve) McClenning; her grandchildren Alyssa and Ryan Fitzgerald and Josef McClenning; her brothers and sisters Ann (Robert) Mulvey, Theresa (the late Norm) Wittkofski, Michael (Marilyn) Sternisha, Joseph Sternisha, George (Maryann) Sternisha, Walter (Sherrill) Sternisha, and Pauline (Alan) Mihelich. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Born in Joliet, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E., her parents Anna and Joseph Fojut, her brothers Joseph (Pearl) Fojut, Frank (Judy) Sternisha, and John (Linda) Sternisha.
She was a member of Joliet Seniors Group, Cantigny Post Women"s Auxiliary, Slovenian Women"s Union Branch 20, KSKJ St. Francis Lodge #29, East Side Athletic Club Women"s Auxiliary, and a parishioner of St. Mary"s Nativity Church.
A Celebration of Alice"s life will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 8, with prayers at the funeral home, then in procession to St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation will be on Monday, from 3 to 9 pm at:
