Age 89 ,of Crest Hill, IL, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at Salem Village on Friday, February 23, 2007. Alex was born in Argo, IL on December 8, 1917 to Leon and Eufimia (Beigel) Munday. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Frances M. (nee Liker); two sons, Raymond (Shirley nee Klancher), and Robert (Nancy nee Jahnke) Munday; one daughter, Beverly nee Munday (Richard) Darin; five grandchildren, Bob (fiancee Missy Schwarz), Colleen (Ryan) Nurczyk, Scott (special friend Jen Fiorella), Erin and Michael (fiancee Karen Simpson) Munday; two great-granddaughters, Haley and Ava Nurczyk; sisters, Ann (Walter deceased) Bernard, Sophie Munday, and Irene (Donald deceased) Mackowiak; brothers, George and Donald (Marge) Munday. Also numerous sister's-in-law, brother's-in-law, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers, Adam, Basil (Darlene deceased) Munday; sisters, Rose (Jessie deceased) Billapando and Olga (Lyle deceased) Foraker and Mary Kripple. Alex has lived in Crest Hill for 64 years. His greatest joys in life were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-granddau-ghters. He was an avid fisherman, loved working in his garden and a lifetime Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and loved Polka Music. A Veteran of the U.S Army in World War II. Retired from the Joliet Wrought Washer Works, Rockdale,IL. Member of the Joliet Rivals Club and Cantigny Post VFW 367. A special thank you to Dr. Kabbani, Dr. Tourk and all the Nurses, Aides, and Staff at Salem Village for such wonderful loving care they provided.
