Albert R. Chamberlin, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 with his loving family by his side.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Theresa (nee Marciniak); four sons, Brad (Joan) of Shorewood, IL, Dr. Michael (Bridget) of Cincinnati, OH, Glenn (Bobbi) of Antioch, IL and Craig (Jennifer) of Bartlett, IL; ten grandchildren, Alex, Sean, Sara, Abby, Ben, Elizabeth, Miranda, Colin, Ava and Henry Chamberlin; special nephew, Dwayne (Kim) Killian; Niece, Eugenia Dust; Sisters-in-law, Eugenia Fabich and Dolores Quick.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mildred (nee Brown) Chamberlin; one brother, Jack Chamberlin.
Albert was born and raised in Joliet and retired from Caterpillar Corp. after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cantigny Post VFW #367 and the United States LST Association. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Albert enjoyed spending time fishing with his family in Hayward, WI and going to various casinos. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle who will be truly missed.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sergei Kravets and the all of the physicians that assisted with Albert's care; as well as Joliet Area Community Hospice for the wonderful comfort provided to him.
In lieu of flowers donations in Albert's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
A celebration of Albert's life will begin on Monday, June 29, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2-7 p.m.
