Agnes M. Perona

Agnes M. Perona, age 88, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Joliet, IL. She was born in January of 1936 at St. Joe's Hospital in Joliet to the late John and Catherine (nee Swandak) Plese.

Agnes received her education at St. Mary Nativity Grade School and St. Francis Academy High School. She dedicated many years of her life to her work, notably at Sickel's and as a representative of Avon.

She had a special talent for making holidays memorable for her grandchildren and loved one and had a knack for making potica too. In her leisure time, she and her husband enjoyed fishing in Iowa and Galena, creating cherished memories together.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Perona, her parents, her brother John, her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry (Kevin) Benco, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Susan (Scott) Kirby; grandson, Stephen Kirby; great-grandchildren, Ryker Kirby and Stephanie (David) Crimmins, and great-grandson, Lucas Crimmins. Also cherishing her memory are her brother-in-law, Donald (Kathy) Perona, niece and nephew, Dave and Jeff Perona, and her goddaughter, Tracy.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at St Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill privately.
